Journal History

Hypotheses in the Life Sciences was founded from the wreckage of Bioscience Hypotheses, a journal itself spun out of the Elsevier title Medical Hypotheses. The Journal went life at the start of 2011, but our lack of big publishing muscle, and our refusal to reduce standards, meant that we always struggled to gain the support needed to become a success in science publishing. In 2014 the HyLS title and 'brand' was transferred to MDPI, to become a subsection of their very successful journal Life. This site is run to support the papers that we published in our 3 years as an independent entity.
